This is a 3 plate soft-ground etching and engraving printed on 100% rag paper. I created these plates on a hiking trail in Montreat NC. in the spring when the new leaves are emerging in vibrant pinks and greens. I am in the process of printing a limited edition of 95 signed, numbered, and hand pulled prints.

The new leaves emerging in spring are as beautiful to me as the flowers. this Rhododendron has soft sticky leaves that will eventually turn dark green. I sit in the woods with the plant to create the color separation , and after etching them do the engraving in my studio.
